It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Like a whole year long. Oops. It seems that when people stop posting they have fallen off the wagon. I did not fall of the wagon…but instead have been chugging along. I last posted that I was in early training of the C25k program. I did complete C25k, oh, yes I did! I ran the Move It Memphis 5k(February), Mule Day 5k(April), St. Jude 5k(April) and the Franklin Classic 5k(September). I am now training for the Move It Memphis 10k at the end of February and will then continue training for the Country Music 1/2 Marathon in April.

While I do not find myself entertaining enough to post very often, I log in everyday and keep up with all of the other fitblrs. I guess you could say I am a creeper. :)

Most defintely was a fun year. Hoping to continue my weight loss journey and to surprise myself even more this year.

Full force ahead….

Still working at it. This past Sunday morning I began Week 3 of C25k. I did not take the time to look at what week 3 consisted of. Well…I pushed play on ipod…started in…first interval was 90 seconds. That was fine…same as last week. THEN…podcast guy says your next run is 3 minutes. I’m pretty sure my mouth dropped. I told myself if I can atleast get to 2 minutes and then walk for 30 seconds and finish the last 30 seconds running. Well, to my surprise…I DID IT! I felt amazing. I still feel amazing after this mornings. Incredible. I can run 3 minutes straight. It reignited my fire.

One thing I’m trying to pin down is how I feel energetic some training sessions and others I literally feel like my feet are lead. I always workout first thing in the morning, so that isn’t the problem. I’m thinking yesterday morning I drank too much water. This morning I just drank a little bit and felt better. I guess I will just play around with it.

Week 3.4 Friday then Week 4 will begin Sunday.

Don’t you worry…I have not been slacking! I completed Week 1.3 on Thursday (Dec. 23). After midnight service on Christmas Eve…which I guess was really Christmas day…I went to the community center and completed Week 2.1. Snow was coming in and I am not trying to run in snow! Ya heard? :) I took a picture because I was so incredibly proud of my dedication…haha! I did the first 2 interval runs fine but the last 4 were testing me. But, it was 1am and I had been awake since 5am the previous day.

Last night I completed Week 2.2. The 90 second intervals were all finished, the first half of them were pretty easy, but the last 3 were somewhat trying. I plan on squeezing in 2 extra training sessions this week, I figure it will help, not hurt.

Week 2.3 will be run Tuesday * Week 2.4 on Thursday * Week 2.5 on Saturday

Completed Week 1.2 last night. It was sooo incredibly nice outside. Temperature was sitting sweetly at 55. Perfecto! By the end it had started misting/sprinkling…which made for a nice cool down.

I would like to make a note that so far this running thing doesn’t seem unreachable or impossible. At first I started doubting myself, but last night as I was running and “brisk” walking in intervals I felt good. I can run the 60 seconds each time. I can do this. I can’t wait for 9 weeks from now when I can (hopefully) run 3 miles to my own playlist and not some weird techno music. Although, I must say…the music is kind of catchy and does well with keeping me hyped. Still a tad out of my musical element though.

p.s. I kind of have the best tree. on. the. block. Just sayin’. :)

Began C25k training yesterday morning (Sunday). Went a little something like this…

Beginning thoughts: This will be fun!

Week 1.1: Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes. Steady five-minute cool down walk. Total time 30 minutes.

Time 5:30am

Temperature 23

Distance 1.7 miles

Finishing thoughts: This kind of SUCKS! 

It is now Monday and I am still sore. Soreness was wearing off, but has been renewed by this morning’s elliptical workout. Lovely.
